How RoomWorth works

How a room walkthrough becomes priced resale listings

The four-step RoomWorth workflow: record a short room walkthrough, identify sellable items in the sampled frames, price each item with a resale range, and turn approved items into editable listing drafts you publish yourself.

Direct answer

A room walkthrough becomes priced resale listings in four steps: you record a short video of the room, RoomWorth identifies sellable items in the sampled frames, prices each item with a resale range and a confidence label, and turns the items you approve into editable listing drafts. RoomWorth does not post listings and its estimates are not an appraisal: you review the catalog, verify the evidence, and publish each listing yourself.

Step 1: Record the walkthrough

Film a slow, roughly one-minute pan of the room in the RoomWorth iOS app after a quick privacy sweep. The app samples keyframes on device and uploads those frames instead of the full video by default, so the scan contains only what the catalog needs.

Step 2: Identify sellable items

Frame analysis names candidate items such as furniture, electronics, rugs, lamps, and decor, groups duplicates across frames, and flags items that need a close-up (for example, a TV model label). You review the catalog and can remove or hide anything before pricing.

Step 3: Price the catalog

Each candidate receives a resale range, a suggested asking price, a fast-sale floor, and a confidence label. These are planning estimates, not an appraisal: verify identity, condition, and sold evidence before relying on any number.

Step 4: List with approval

Choose which items deserve a listing and RoomWorth prepares editable drafts with a title, description, and price. RoomWorth does not post listings: you review, edit, and publish each draft yourself on the marketplace you choose.

A truthful before and after

Illustrative sample from the deterministic demo room, not a real scan, sale, or prediction. The input is a set of sampled walkthrough frames; the output is a priced catalog entry and an editable listing draft.

Before · walkthrough input

Sampled living-room frames

Twelve keyframes from a slow pan of a living room. No people, documents, or screens in frame. One sofa is visible from three angles.

After · priced draft

Gray fabric sofa

Category furniture · visible condition good · estimated range $180-$320 · suggested ask $240 · fast-sale floor $190 · confidence B. Draft title: “Gray fabric sofa - Good condition”, with an editable description and pickup terms. Verify identity, condition, and sold evidence before using any figure.

Step through a sample item

This lightweight demo runs entirely in your browser on local deterministic sample data. Nothing is uploaded, and no real room, market, or outcome is represented.

Go deeper with the resale guides

The workflow above is the short version. These free guides cover the parts that decide whether a listing is worth your time:

The workflow is not complete until the outcome comes back

An estimate is a planning input. The useful evidence arrives later: selected channel, list date, asking price, direct costs, final sold price, sold date, or unsold status. Keep those outcomes attached to the original item so future decisions can separate a pricing miss from poor reach, a difficult pickup, or a deadline-driven discount.

The 60-second room scan video series turns that loop into an honest public format: reveal the candidates, show the listing decision, then return with verified results rather than implying that an estimate became cash.

Frequently asked questions

Does RoomWorth post listings to marketplaces for me?

No. RoomWorth prepares editable listing drafts from the items you approve. You review, edit, and publish each listing yourself; nothing goes live automatically.

How accurate are the price estimates?

Estimates are labeled starting points with a confidence grade, not an appraisal or a prediction of a sale. Verify each item's identity, condition, and sold comparable evidence before pricing a real listing.

What do I need to record?

A slow, roughly one-minute walkthrough video or a set of photos is enough. The app uploads sampled keyframes by default rather than the full video, and you can delete the scan, frames, catalog, and drafts at any time.

Can I try the workflow without scanning my home?

Yes. The public demo uses a deterministic sample room, so you can review the catalog and listing-draft flow without uploading anything private. The iOS product and commercial plans remain in active beta.
